Tehran City Theater Complex is the greatest venue of dramatic and preforming arts in Iran, which founded in 1960s in Tehran. It stands as a memorial of the cultural development programs that planned to improve artistic and cultural activities in Iran. The circular and cylinder form of the building designed by architect Ali Sardar Afkhami evokes ancient and traditional theater, which has different Persian architecture period signs.

Located near the intersection of one the most important historical/cultural axis in the city of Tehran (Vali Asr St. and Enghelab St.), Tehran City Theater surrounded by  Daneshjoo (Student) Park.  Student Park was built in 1978, and is one of oldest memorable parks that was constructed in an area as wide as 32,000 square meters.

The project focuses on Design and development of Student Park, New Mosque adjacent to the City Theater and the Metro Station in the northwest corner of the Park. The theater draws a distinctive architectural language with its tiled circular structure surrounded by external pillars. One of the greatest challenge faced in this project is accommodating change to a heritage place and adding new layers to the historic urban environment in ways that recognize, interpret, and sustain their heritage values.

In this project the new design tried to contribute to the changes of today's life in a way that conserve and celebrate the special character and quality of the cultural architecture and historic environment that communities have recognized as important and wish to conserve for future generations.

The Center part of Student Park has been transformed into a public plaza dominated by an urban pool with small islands and verdant local plants  . The pool has been carefully planned to be a perfect gathering spot for all seasons: the water level will rise and fall in response to the rainy and dry seasons, and in hot weather mist sprayers will reduce the local temperature to provide welcome relief to visitors.
