The Colosseum is an oval amphitheater which was built between 70 AD and 80 AD in the center of the city of Rome, Italy, just east of the Roman Forum. It is the largest ancient amphitheater ever built, and is still the largest standing amphitheater in the world today, The Colosseum was built from an estimated 100,000 cubic meters of travertine stone, plus a similar measure of Roman cement, bricks, and tuff blocks. Travertine is a class of limestone that draws its name from Tibur (near modern-day Tivoli), where it was mined.

Shams Ol-Emareh in Golestan Palace was once the tallest building in Tehran. It was the “Sun of Royal Mansions“, which was the first symbol of Tehran as the capital of the country. This magnificent building with a height of about 35 meters, represented the pure art of Iranian architecture in European style for the first time. Construction of the Shams Ol-Emareh began in 1865 and was completed two years later in 1867.

Ahmad Shahi Pavilion Koushk-e Ahmad Shāhi‎ is located in the Niavaran Complex, in the north of Tehran, Iran. The Pavilion was built at the end of the Qajar era as Ahmad Shah's dwelling among Niavaran garden. Ahmad Shahi Pavilion was constructed as a two-story building in the surrounds of 800 m2 of land. It is about 100 years old and is located adjacent to the Sahebqaraniyeh Palace. The two story pavilion   construction with a pitched roof heavily inspired by the neoclassic architecture style and has rare signs of Iranian architecture.

Anbooh Village was built partway up a steep mountainside. To conform to the steep incline, residents had to find creative ways of optimizing space. Indeed, the architecture of this roughly 1,000-year-old village is such that the front garden of each house sits on the rooftop of the house below it.

Anbooh village is known for its Sweet, large, and juicy pomegranate. In ancient Persian culture, pomegranate was the symbol of fertility. Every year in harvesting season, a Feast of Pomegranate is held by local people in Anbooh village.

Al-Abbas Shrine is the mausoleum of Abbas ibn Ali and a mosque, located near the Imam Husayn Mosque in Karbala, Iraq. In 1622 the decoration of the grave's dome ordered and a window around the grave was built.

The majority of the modern design was done by Persian and Central Asian architects. The central teardrop shaped dome is an ornately decorated structure, with an internal and external dome. The internal dome visible from the inside is ornately decorate with fine mirror work. Two tall minarets stand on the domes sides, they were gilded in gold in the renovation works of 2007.

The Iranian Art Museum Garden is an art museum located in the Elahieh district of Tehran. The gardens have an area of less than one hectare. The main attraction of the museum gardens are about a dozen scaled-down replicas of well-known historical Iranian buildings dating to the early Pahlavi dynasty. The main building was built in 1931. The renovation landscaping and adding green spaces was started in 2005 and it was opened as a museum that year.

Niavaran Cultural Center designed by a renowned architect Kamran Diba. This building is a postmodern structure that exploits the elements of ancient Persian architecture in a minimalist matter. The unique architecture of this  complex is inspired by traditional architecture of Iran. It is designed By implementing traditional arches and skylights drawn from desert wind catchers.

The construction of the complex started in 1976 and finished in 1977. Influenced by the pattern of Persian Gardens, the garden of Niavaran Cultural Center provides great outdoor spaces for artists to hold their performances.

The Outer Banks started being viewed as an appealing, resort destination in the mid-19th century. “Old Cottage Row” which once included a dance pavilion and public bathhouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. Rugged, functional, and resilient, the historic strip of beachfront homes have not only become an Outer Banks icon, they also serve as blueprints for the distinctive Nags Head architectural style that is being copied in newer homes for miles up and down the beach.
