Desertification is far from being a new global crisis. It is triggered mainly by the overuse of land and unsustainable agricultural practices which lead to a loss of natural vegetation and healthy soil. An expanding human population and urban living area as well as the low level of priority placed on environmental protection efforts also contributes.

This project focused on Innovative solutions to find new ways of surviving in harsh desert climate. To connect architecture and nature, the resilience house would pay attention to the whole desert ecosystem and not just applying superficial solutions. Using Improved and innovative solutions found in forms, structures, processes and organisms of nature. thick and fleshy leaves of succulent store water and help it survives in a dry and hot environment By emulation and inspiration from nature, the goal is to design a desert house, integrated with nature and less invasive to it which could survive the harsh climate of the desert. The design expose different layers of the meaning of the desert.

The theme of water - from source to management - plays an essential role in the project. The idea of returning rainwater to the ground to help grow of vegetation and increase of biodiversity. The issue of accessibility to drinking water could potentially addressed by rainwater collection from the roof and use of filtration process. The photovoltaic panels at the expansive  Mono-pitched roof with battery pack enable the house to be off-grid. Many strategies applied to ensure sustainable adaptation of the house with harsh hot and arid environment. Strategies include Rooftop Solar System, PV Panels + Battery Storage, Rainwater Collection, Returning Used Water to Water Table. Resilience Desert house designed to minimizes Energy consumption by taking advantage of two natural resources like sunlight and wind  and applying design strategies such as building orientation, two layer skin, central court yard.
