The southern slopes of the Alborz Mountains is called Touchal, and is considered to be the main and famous vicinity for mountaineers and sportsmen of Tehran. Various shelters running from east to west are Kolak Chal, Sherwin, Sheer Palla, Touchal, Espeed Kamar and Palang Chal. The route to the Palang Chal shelter is from Darakeh and it takes 5 hours for ascending in summer.
Located in the route to Palang Chal The Mountain shelter is a small hotel with recreational amenities, The Mountain Shelter will welcome visitors throughout the year to explore The southern foothills of Mount Tochal and the moutain shelter which emerge from ground.
One of the inspirations for the project’s design was the morphology of the region. The shelter is part and parcel of the rolling hills and blends in with the natural landscape of the route Palang Chal. The design that calls to mind the surrounding peaks, it's almost as if the shelter is an extension of the environment it sits on.
